Cardinal Raymond Burke celebrated a Solemn Pontifical Mass on Saturday, March 25 – the feast of the Annunciation. The church of St. Mary, Greenwich CT (Fr. Cyprian La Pastina, pastor) was filled to overflowing.
(Above and below) In the rectory: initial prayers and the vesting with buskins and episcopal sandals.
The church of St Mary was standing room only – and many had to remain standing in the vestibule. The Traditionalist movement pays a price for its own success now and then!

Thank you for providing such a rich liturgical and spiritual experience that so many that day felt deeply, as it helped them worship Almighty God, as Holy Mother Church provides; reflecting the depth of Her rich liturgical past, as well as the cosmological dimension that is true for each mass said in the present. There should be a place for all to experience this regularly.
Thank you for your comments. This Mass, by the way, was organized by Fr. La Pastina and the parish of St. Mary. If you see Fr. La Pastina, let him know how much you appreciated it. I agree that such a Mass should be available for all Catholics to experience. Fortunately a Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form with beautiful polyphonic music and Gregorian chant is celebrated every Sunday at St. Mary in Norwalk at 9:30 am.
I find Cardinal Burke to be disturbing. Although I faithfully attend mass regularly, I find myself at St Mary less.
God bless a true Catholic Christian, our Holy Father Pope Francis!
