We attended the Low Sunday mass at Our Saviour’s, and it was truly beautiful. We enjoyed the mass in Latin, and especially the music (both singing and the organ music.) We appreciated that the Society of St. Hugh of Cluny put this together and found so many talented singers. We hope to hear them again.

Thank you for having sponsored this wonderful Mass. For all who had the good fortune to be present, it was a multifaceted treat indeed. The Mass itself was both beautiful and inspiring, but the undeniable highlight was the magnificent singing rendered by the two scholas. The chant was ethereal and edifying, but the polyphony—I’m sure those were angels I heard singing! Kudos to organist and choirmaster David J. Hughes for having assembled and directed such an incredibly talented choir. Any chance there will be audio links available as you had for the Mass of September 9, 2007? It would seem well worth the trip to Norwalk, CT to hear these singers perform again. Thank you, God bless you and keep up the good work.

What a wonderful mass! It was my first time to attend this church and it was beautiful. It was well attended, a full house. The sermon was touching. And the choir and the organist were very moving. The choir was really outstanding and the closing organ piece was the pefect end to the Low Sunday mass.

Thank you all for your positive remarks! David Hughes does indeed direct the choir at St. Mary’s Church in Norwalk, CT. You can hear them sing every Sunday at the traditional Mass at 9:00 am in the lower church.

What a splendid evening! Thank you Society of St. Hugh of Cluny along with Father Rutler for having put this event together. Thank you Mr. Dino Marcantonio, of Church of St. Agnes, as well for the talk on Classical Architecture.
These Traditional Catholic events are the highlights of my week. -Sara

Many thanks to the Society of St. Hugh of Cluny for these wonderful programs.
(David Hughes also shares his talent with the Traditional Latin Mass community at Sleepy Hollow, NY at Immaculate Conception Church every Sunday at 3PM. He directs the Men’s Schola for the Sung Masses and is instructing 30+ children -really- in the Ward Method of Gregorian Chant)

I attended the Latin mass at Church of Our Savior this past Sunday. The mass was said with such reverence, and the beautiful voices of the schola added to the dignity of the service. It was an honor to be part of the congregation.

I also attened and the Mass was one of those times that i felt filled with joy at being Catholic and love for the Christ’s Church. I feel very blessed to live in NYC to have attened and to be able to occasionally attend Our Saviour.

My wife and I, together with two friends, attended this Mass on our first visit to New York from the UK. I can only echo what has already been said. It was a wonderful privelege to have been able to participate in such a wonderful celebration of the Holy Sacrifice.
