New Catholics Confirmed at St. Mary’s Latin Mass

Posted by admin

On Sunday, three Yale graduate students were received into the church during the 9 am Latin Mass at St. Mary Church in Norwalk, CT. Fr. Greg Markey administered the rite of Confirmation. Fr. Cipolla, who instructed these new Catholics, has said that their conversions were in no small way the result of the particular graces of the Extraordinary Form.
The Latin Mass community at St. Mary’s, which got its start during Advent, only a few months ago, is thriving, with about 180 in attendance this past Sunday. Surely this is in part due to the beautiful polyphonic Mass settings and Gregorian chant sung by the a capella choir at each Mass. This past Sunday, the choir sang Thomas Tallis’s Mass for Four Voices and his motet “O Sacrum Convivium.” Or perhaps many are attracted to St. Mary’s by Fr. Markey’s warm welcome and the wonderful parish.
