A pilgrimage to the Shrine of the North American Martyrs in Auriesville, New York, is being organized by the National Coalition of Clergy and Laity for September 24-27. In the words of the organizers: “In its thirteenth year, the annual pilgrimage is a spiritual journey of the faithful to the place where Saints Isaac Jogues, RenĂ© Goupil and John LaLande were martyred 366 years ago. It is conducted in honor of Christ Our King, for the restoration of new Christendom, and in reparation for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” Over 1000 pilgrims participate every year.
The Shrine is about forty miles west of Albany, right off of the NY thruway. It overlooks the scenic Mohawk River valley.
Join us on Saturday, September 27 for the final leg of the pilgrimage: a 7 mile march from the National Shrine of Blessed Kateri Tekawitha in Fonda, NY to the Shrine of the North American Martyrs, where a beautiful Solemn High Mass will celebrated according to the 1962 Missal. We will assemble with the other pilgrims at the Kateri Shrine and march as a group. Prayers that initiate the march begin at 9:00 am,but you need to arrive at about 8 am to park you car at Auriesville and take a shuttle to the Kateri Shrine. The last shuttle leaves at 8:45.
