Fr. Robert Boyd, a priest at St. Mary’s who has celebrated the Traditional Mass at many area churches, will be leaving the Diocese of Bridgeport at the end of June in order to enter the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter. Fortunately, he will not be traveling far, as he will be assigned to the Our Lady of Fatima Chapel in Pequannock, New Jersey, beginning in July. Fr. Boyd will offer his last Mass as a priest at St. Mary’s on Sunday, June 21 at 9:30. This will be, as usual, a Solemn High Mass. A reception will follow in Msgr. Hajus Hall hosted by the Legion of Mary, an organization he started in the parish.
Our picture of Fr. Boyd was taken at his first celebration of the Traditional Mass, at St. Mary Church, Greenwich on September 14, 2007, which he celebrated in thanksgiving for the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum. cf. http://hughofcluny.blogspot.com/2007/09/traditional-mass-celebrated-in.html
