Bishop Fernando Arêas Rifan will be the celebrant at Solemn Pontifical Vespers and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament (Extraordinary Form) at St. Mary Church, Norwalk, Connecticut on Sunday, June 21 at 5:00 pm. It will be five-cope Vespers, meaning that in addition to the bishop, there will be four Assistant Priests. Each intones one of the five psalms.
Bishop Rifan is the Apostolic Administrator of the Personal Apostolic Administration of St. John Mary Vianney in Campos, Brazil. These Vespers mark the conclusion of a novena of Masses in New York City that is being sponsored by the Confraternity of the Sacred Heart.
