The Confraternity of the Sacred Heart has organized a novena of Masses in the Extraordinary Form to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus, starting tomorrow night (Thursday, June 11) at Holy Innocents Church. According to the Confraternity website “Our Lord Himself asked St. Margaret Mary that a Feast honoring his Sacred Heart be established on the Friday of the octave of the Feast of Corpus Christi. Recognizing the link that Our Lord specified between the Feast of Corpus Christi and the Feast of the Sacred Heart, we begin a Novena of Masses offered for Vocations to the Priesthood and Priestly Sanctity with a Solemn Mass for the Feast of Corpus Christi. The novena will conclude with a Solemn Pontifical Mass for the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the day this year when Our Holy Father, Benedict XVI, will proclaim the beginning of the Year for Priests.”
The Novena of Masses is being organized in conjunction with a conference on the Sacred Heart and dinner. (See an our earlier post :link)
