Traditional Masses for the Immaculate Conception

For the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8, the following churches will be offering the Traditional Mass:

Connecticut

St. Mary Church, Solemn Mass, Norwalk, CT, 5:30 pm.
Prelude: Prélude à l’Introït pour l’Immaculée Conception (from L’Orgue Mystique) (Tournemire)
Missa de Beata Maria (Tomás Luis de Victoria, 1548-1611)
Gregorian Mass of the Immaculate Conception: Gaudens gaudebo
Motet at the Offertory: Illibata Dei Virgo nutrix (Josquin des Prez, c.1450-1521)
Motet at the Communion: Ave virginum decus hominum (Illibata…, secunda pars) (Josquin)
Postlude: Postlude (pièce terminale) pour l’Immaculée Conception (from L’Orgue Mystique) (Tournemire)\

St. Stanislaus, New Haven, low Mass at 5:30 P.M.

St.Bridget of Kildare Church, Moodus, 10 am.

New York

Holy Innocents Church, Manhattan, Solemn Mass, 6:15 pm.

Immaculate Conception Church, Sleepy Hollow, 5PM Low Mass

St. Matthias Church, December 7, 7pm (Vigil of the Immaculate Conception, 68th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor), 58-15 Catalpa Ave. Ridgewood, (718) 821-6447, Missa Sancti Joannis de Deo by Franz Josef Haydn, Motets – Ave Maria by Franz Biebl and Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck.

St. Matthews, Dix Hills, Long Island, 10:30am in the large church.

Pennsylvania

St. Stephen of Hungary, Allentown, PA, 7 p.m.

Early information on Christmas Masses

St. Mary Church, Norwalk, will once again offer a Solemn Midnight Mass as well as a Christmas morning Mass at 9:30.

St. Stanislaus Church, New Haven, High Mass at 2:00 pm to be celebrated the Rev. Stanley Miekina, C.M. Music for the service to be performed by the chant Schola Cantorum of the Society will include the Vatican Edition Mass VIII (“Missa de Angelis”) the hymns “Jesu Redemptor omnium” and “A solis ortus,” and the Gregorian chant propers.

Church of Our Saviour, Manhattan, Missa Cantata, 10 am.

Our Lady of Peace, Brooklyn, 11 am.
