German Archbishop on Haiti and Climate Change

Archbishop Werner Thissen of Hamburg, in discussing the actions Misereor (a German Catholic relief agency)is undertaking in Haiti, had this to say:

(Interviewer): Is the earthquake a consequence of the climate catastrophe?

Thissen: One can’t say one leads to the other so simplistically. But it is indisputable that the changes in climate have enormously contributed to such catastrophes.
