Solemn Mass at Cabrini Shrine in Manhattan

Posted by Stuart Chessman
Saturday, December 22nd, is the 95th Anniversary of the death and birth to heaven of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini (1850 – 1917).

The Agnus Dei (#12361) and Regina Coeli (#423) Councils of the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Pilgrimage to the Shrine Church of St. Frances Cabrini in Washington Heights, New York City for a Solemn Mass (Missale Romanum 1962) to mark this Anniversary.

Mother Cabrini died in Chicago and was buried in New York. Her remains were found to be incorrupt in 1931 and are now enshrined in the altar of the shrine.

The Solemn Mass is at 11:00 AM. Msgr. Joseph Ambrosio, Pastor of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Newark, New Jersey, will celebrate the Mass. Mother Cabrini worked for many years at Msgr. Ambrosio’s Parish in Newark.

The Shrine is located at 701 Fort Washington Avenue in Manhattan. To get there from Manhattan, take the A train to 190 Street.
