New High Mass in Agawam, MA

Posted by Stuart Chessman

St. John the Evangelist Church in Agawam, MA now has a Tridentine High Mass sung entirely in Gregorian chant which is never abbreviated but sung completely according to the Graduale Romanum. The Mass is celebrated at 5 PM every Sunday except the 3rd Sunday of each month with plans soon for every Sunday. The canonical hour of none is sung immediately before the High Mass. Blessings of bread for St. Joseph, roses for Laetare Sunday, and milk and honey for Low Sunday will take place immediately after the Masses in the coming weeks. Tenebrae will also be sung Holy Wednesday night April 16th at 7:30PM. All will be sung in Gregorian chant with the Lamentations sung in an elaborate tone from the Benedictine Monastery of Silos in Spain. Latin-English translations are always available for all services. The church is located at 833 Main St. in Agawam.
