Director Alexander Blachly’s vocal ensemble Pomerium and the viol consort, The Cat’s Paw, perform works by Isaac, Josquin, Senfl, Crecquillon and Gombert. “Music for Imperial Augsburg” presents monumental works by these composers, known to have been presented at the general assemblies, called diets, of the Holy Roman Empire during the reigns of Maximilian I (1486-1519) and Charles V (1519-1556).
