Anniversary of Death of Cardinal Kung: Solemn Mass

Posted by Stuart Chessman
Ignatius Cardinal Kung

A Solemn Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Basilica in Stamford on Friday, March 8 at 7 pm to pray for the underground Catholic Church in China. The Mass is on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the death of Ignatius Cardinal Kung.

The celebrant will be Fr. Cyprian La Pastina, pastor of St. Mary Church, Greenwich. David Hughes will lead the Viri Galilaei men’s chant choir.

The Catholic Church has been persecuted in China for 70 years. Persecution has intensified since the signing of the provisional Vatican-China agreement in October, 2018.

This Mass is sponsored by the Cardinal Kung Foundation. http://www.cardinalkungfoundation.org
