We are not alone

Posted by Stuart Chessman

It is well known that Pope Francis is very irritated by this theologico-liturgical “conservatism” of the American Church. His secretaries are ordered to deposit on his desk all information concerning the opposition against him in the world. Some come from French social networks, but many come from the United States: in particular, the photos of traditional pontifical masses celebrated by American prelates put before his eyes have the gift of unleashing and exposing the extremes of the fury of the reigning pontiff. It is even said that in its spirit Traditionis Custodes was first directed against the American Church. And in the interview he gave to his Jesuit colleagues during his visit to Portugal, he deplored the “climate of closure” in the United States”, where “true tradition” is replaced by turning to “ideologies”. Ideologies? Really: the defence of the traditional catechism and the traditional mass…

I repeat: we are not alone in our resistance.
