Mass and Lecture at Our Saviour’s

Posted by admin

A beautiful Mass was celebrated yesterday – Low Sunday – in Our Saviour’s Church on Park Avenue. My warmest thanks to Fathers Cippola, Munkelt and Ringley, our music director Mr. David Hughes, the MCs Bill Riccio and Mike Boyd and finally the exemplary servers (too numerous to list here!). Afterwards a large and appreciative audience listened to Dino Marcantonio downstairs in the undercroft of the church. Dino concisely and brilliantly outlined essential elements of the classical tradition, showed their continuity over many ages and in different styles of architecture and finally pointed out their perhaps surprising relationship with the Traditional Mass. Let me conclude by expressing my gratitude to Father George Rutler, the pastor of Our Saviour’s, for making it all possible.
