2018 Year End Summary and Appeal for Support
I would like to ask to remember us when you consider donations. this year.
At the end of November, we will be welcoming once again Martin Mosebach to the New York area! On Wednesday, November 28, at 7:00 PM he will speak at the Union League Club in Manhattan. The following evening, November 29, we will be sponsoring a Solemn Mass at 6:00 PM at St Mary’s Norwalk CT.
Let me tell you what else the Society has been doing in this, our eleventh year, since our last appeal.
On December 12, 2017 we sponsored a Solemn Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Manhattan, featuring orchestral music of Mexico from the 18th century.
On April 14 of this year we sponsored a lecture by Prof. Robert de Mattei of Rome at St Mary’s, Norwalk CT. It was preceded by a Solemn Mass accompanied, once again, by orchestral music of the Mexican Baroque.
On May 5 we sponsored a Solemn Mass and the Lepanto Youth Conference at Immaculate Conception Basilica in Waterbury, CT.
On May 31 we sponsored a splendid Solemn Liturgy for the Feast of St Joan of Arc at the Church of St. Agnes, Brooklyn.
On September 11 we sponsored a Missa Cantataaccompanied by orchestral music of the baroque at the Church/Shrine of the Most Precious Blood in Little Italy, Manhattan.
Coming up, on Tuesday, November 13 we will be co-sponsoring the annual Solemn Requiem Mass in the Dominican Rite at the Church of St Vincent Ferrer, Manhattan.
All these events are set out on our website: https://sthughofcluny.org
You can readily see how the pace of our activity has picked up in recent years. Our Society ranges all over the New York Metropolitan area despite our limited personnel resources.
These initiatives do, however, involve significant expenditures – primarily for the musicians who contribute so much to the beauty of our masses and for the travel expenses of the (often foreign) speakers.
We reduce the costs by partnering with other groups or parishes – indeed most of the events above were made possible by such collaborations!
But they were also made possible by the generous donations of you, our members and readers.
We do believe that in the last eleven years we and you have made the Traditional Mass in its complete splendor more widely known.
We ask for your continued generous support in advancing the Traditionalist Catholic movement!
You may use Paypal, or contact us if you wish to send a check.
Every dollar you donate goes toward promoting the Traditional Mass in the Connecticut/New York/New Jersey area! All donations are tax deductible!
