On Saturday, September 24, at 10:00 AM the Society of St Hugh of Cluny will be sponsoring a Solemn mass at the Shrine Church of the Most Precious Blood at 113 Baxter Street/109 Mulberry Street, New York. It will be a votive Mass of San Gennaro with a commemoration of the Ember Day.
The Society continues its annual September “Italian Heritage” pilgrimage. This year we will be moving downtown to a legendary Italian church – during the feast of San Gennaro! A votive Mass of S Gennaro will be celebrated with a commemoration of the Ember Day. This church also is the location this year of an Archdiocesan “holy door of Mercy.”

On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Wednesday, September 14, a Solemn High Mass will be offered at Church of the Holy Rosary in the Bronx, NY at 7:30 PM. Music by Byrd, Tallis, and Morales will be sung. Parking is available in the church lot.

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is on Monday, August 15. The following churches will offer the traditional Mass:

St. Mary Church, Norwalk, CT,  4:00 pm, Solemn Mass in the presence of a greater prelate. Bishop Frank Caggiano of Bridgeport will preside. Music will include the Missa Brevis in D by Mozart, motets by Charpentier and Palestrina as well as the Gregorian Chant propers for the Assumption.. At the conclusion of Mass, Bishop Caggiano will dedicate an antique Marian statue in honor of “Our Lady of Norwalk”, which then will be carried in procession through downtown Norwalk. The Fifth Annual Traditional Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on East 116th Street, New York on Saturday, July 23. Over the last five years the number of pilgrims has steadily grown  – the ceremonies and music have also become much more elaborate.   The pilgrimage takes place a week after this parish’s patronal feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel –  a legendary festa which nowadays also prominently features the celebration of the Traditional mass. The pilgrimage involves individuals and Traditionalist organizations from all over the New York area.  The celebrant was Canon Matthew Talarico ICRSS.  The deacon was Fr Christopher Salvatore SAC and the subdeacon was Fr. Richard Cipolla, pastor of St. Mary Church, Norwalk.

Yesterday evening Canon Jean Marie Moreau, ICRSS, celebrated a farewell mass at Holy Innocents Church, New York. Canon Moreau has been in the New York area(New Jersey and New York) for five years; he is now heading to the island of Mauritius. After Mass there was an ongoing novena in honor of St. Ann, whose feast day is July 26. The ceremony included a procession around the church with a statue of St. Ann and the exposed Blessed Sacrament,  Benediction and veneration of a relic of St. Ann. At St. Paul Church in Yonkers, a low traditional mass is celebrated every Sunday at 1:30, except the fourth Sunday, when it is at 2:30.
Weekday masses at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (not in bulletin).

Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite will be held at the Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist in Stamford on Saturday, July 16 at 9:30 in the morning to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel. This is the anniversary of the date the Church was declared a Basilica by Pope Benedict XVI and a special indulgence is granted to all who visit the Church that day and go to Confession, Holy Communion and recite prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father eight days before or after the visit.
