Tony Faddoul, one of the team leaders of The Catholic Fellowship of NYC, will give a talk on “Christian Persecution in the Middle East” at the Church of the Holy Innocents hall (downstairs) this Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 pm (following the 6 pm traditional mass).
Description of the Talk 
The Christians in the Middle East are enduring a massive contemporary persecution. The talk will cover how Christians and minorities are being systematically annihilated and uprooted from their ancient land. Also, it will give a simplified history and ideology account of terrorism and how it affects the region and the world from establishing a state of terror all the way to the refugees crisis.
About the Speaker
Antoine (“Tony”) Faddoul is originally from Lebanon. He lived in several countries in the Middle East, and studied Arabic and Islamic history and literature. Faddoul often lecture and publish short papers about various topics from science to history and linguistics. His talks cover the history of the Middle East in addition to the Christians and
modern terrorism and persecution. He also works with organizations that bring awareness among policymakers and the general public to the Middle Eastern Christians and their suffering. Faddoul holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Science in Project Management.

Young professionals adoration will be held at the Church of the Holy Innocents (Upper Church) at 7:15pm.

A social will follow at the Hall downstairs (Lower Church) after adoration at 8:15pm.

It was on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (then celebrated on December 9th) that Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas and the unborn, first appeared to St. Juan Diego. The National Night of Prayer for Life bridges these two feasts to honor Our Blessed Mother and prays through Her intercession for the establishment of a Culture of Life, protection for the Church from persecution and asks Our Lord to REVIVE OUR LAND.

The St. Cecilia Society of St. Mary Church, Norwalk, Ct, will present its annual benefit concert in honor of St. Cecilia on Sunday, November 15 at 4 pm at St. Mary Church, Norwalk. The concert features the St. Mary’s Schola Cantorum under the direction of David J. Hughes.
The title of the concert is “Gaudeamus! Music for All Saints and for all of us.” General admission is $25, for students and seniors it is $15. All proceeds go to support the St. Mary’s Schola, which performs at the 9:30 solemn traditional Mass every Sunday. A festive wine and cheese reception will follow the concert.
The theme for the concert is Gaudeamus!, after the introit for All Saints’ Day. The Schola will sing several polyphonic works based on this plainchant (including Morales’ Jubilate Deo and selections from Josquin’s Missa Gaudeamus and Victoria’s Mass of the same name). The concert will also feature solos and duets sung by the members of the Schola (from Verdi to Monteverdi!), accompanied by Charles Weaver on lute and David Hughes on organ.

A beginning level biblical Greek class will now be offered at St. Mary’s Church, Norwalk. The first class will be this Friday, November 6 at 6:30 pm in the St. Therese Room of the school building. Read the New Testament Gospels, Acts of the Apostles and Epistles in the original language. The instruction is being offered at no cost. Saint Mary Church in Norwalk, CT, will host Fr. George Rutler from New York City for sung vespers at 5 PM this Sunday, November 1, Feast of All Our Saints.
This traditional Sunday prayer service will culminate with Exposition and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament, a beautiful way to end Sunday’s Feast. This devotion continues every first Sunday of each month with various priests presiding.
