On Saturday, April 1, 2017 9 AM,  the Pontifical Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in New York will offer a Missa Cantata followed by Eucharistic Adoration, Novena Prayers to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Servant of God Pierre Toussaint & Benediction; Confessions heard before Mass and during Eucharistic Adoration.

In addition, on Tuesday April 4th at 7 PM there will be a Sung Requiem Mass – Month’s Mind for Jacques Pierre.

On Easter Friday, April 21st at 7:00, the Very Rev. Msgr. Joseph Ambrosio will celebrate the first Traditional Latin Mass in Saint Stephen’s Parish, or for that matter in the entire town of Kearny, since the changes of Vatican II.

Tenebrae according to the 1962 liturgical books will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua in Jersey City on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:00 p.m.

On the Feast of the Annunciation, the Children’s Schola of St. Mary Church, Norwalk, directed by David Hughes, performed at a Solemn Mass at St. Agnes Church in New York. The schola sang Palestrina’s Missa Ave Maria.

(Above and Below) The splendid music included Mozart’s “Sparrow” Mass and his setting of Ave Verum Corpus. The musical forces were led by Marjorie Donalds, parish music director (who also sang).

Cardinal Raymond Burke celebrated a Solemn Pontifical Mass on Saturday, March 25 – the feast of the Annunciation. The church of St. Mary, Greenwich CT (Fr. Cyprian La Pastina, pastor) was filled to overflowing.

The church of St Mary was standing room only – and many had to remain standing in the vestibule. The Traditionalist movement pays a price for its own success now and then!

“Your members might be interested in a wonderful series of sung Latin Masses offered at St. Mary’s in Roslyn Harbor in Nassau County. Fr. McCartney generally picks one special feast each month, on a weekday, to offer these. His homilies are fantastic. Will give a link to the schedule below.
Fr. McCartney, the pastor, is also inviting boys to come at 6:15 on the evenings of these Masses to learn to serve. All the boys who come, even if they are totally new to this, get to vest, process, and participate.”

All Masses are at 7 pm.  The next will be on Easter Wednesday, April 19.
