St. Mary’s Church, Norwalk, CT will offer a solemn mass “in the presence of a greater prelate” on Sunday August 14 at 4 pm. Bishop Frank Caggiano of Bridgeport will preside. Music will include the Missa Brevis in D by Mozart, motets by Charpentier and Palestrina as well as the Gregorian Chant propers for the Assumption..   At the conclusion of Mass, Bishop Caggiano will dedicate an antique Marian statue in honor of “Our Lady of Norwalk”, which then will be carried in procession through downtown Norwalk.
A festive dinner with live music, reflecting the parish’s multi-ethnic membership will follow.  Tickets are required for the dinner. To purchase dinner tickets   call 203-866-5546.

On Monday, July 18 (Feast of St. Camillus de Lellis), the parishioners of the Church of the Holy Innocents will have a Going-Away Party for Canon Jean-Marie Moreau — he has been assigned to go to Mauritius. It will start with Mass at 6PM and the reception will be in the parish hall after the Mass.

The traditional Mass community in Jersey City is having a fundraising evening for the music program for the traditional Mass at the Church of St. Anthony (Jersey City).

The Taste of Spain fundraiser for Cantantes In Cordibus, a 501c3 entity that supports and cultivates sacred music in Jersey City will take place on Thursday June 23rd, 7 pm to 10 pm.

Tickets are $100 a piece and limited to 60 people.

With absolutely no political message at all (except perhaps to the contrary of the eponymous developer), the event will take place at the Trump Plaza in Jersey City and will feature food, wine music and dancing of Spain. Restaurants such as Raval and Satis in Jersey City will be contributing food.

Today there took place a pilgrimage of parishioners of Holy Innocents Church to the Church of the Most Precious Blood. This has been designated as having a “door of mercy” for the Archdiocese.

Msgr. Sakano, the pastor of Old St. Patrick’s, talked about the restoration project.

“A lot more people than expected.”

There followed a tour of the crypt.

The group of pilgrims then assembled to head south to the “Shrine of the Most Precious Blood,” which is joined with Old St. Patrick’s since “Making all Things New.”

Solemn Vespers followed.

On Saturday, June 11, 2016, a group Holy Innocents of parishioners will go on pilgrimage to Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the Year of Mercy. The doors of The Shrine of the Most Precious Blood (merged with Old St. Patrick’s) have been designated Doors of Mercy.

Immediately after the 1PM Mass at Holy Innocents on that Saturday, the group will meet outside of Holy Innocents and take the train to Old St. Patrick’s. We will aim to arrive there at 2:30PM. The group will be received by the Rector, Msgr. Donald Sakano (who used to be Pastor at Holy Innocents). The parishioners will then get a tour of the recent renovations and be led in prayer for the Year of Mercy.

At 3:30PM, the group will walk over to Most Precious Blood where the Holy Doors (of Mercy) are located for the indulgences for the Year of Mercy — the Shrine is about 5-6 blocks away.

Finally, at 4PM, newly-ordained Fr. Jon Tveit will celebrate traditional Vespers at the Shrine Church of the Most Precious Blood.
