Art of the Beautiful Lecture Series: “Daring To Love The Beautiful One”
The final lecture of the season is on Saturday, April 8th at 7:30 PM. His Excellency, Frank J. Caggiano, Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport, will speak to us about “Daring To Love The Beautiful One.” The event takes place, as always, at the Catholic Center at NYU. Afterwards, meet Bishop Caggiano and make new friends at the wine and cheese. We end the evening with sung Compline.
Bishop Caggiano was born in Brooklyn on Easter Sunday, 1959. He attended Ss. Simon and Jude Elementary School in Gravesend, and Regis High School in Manhattan. He entered Yale University as a political science major, but later decided to enter the priesthood. He earned a B.A. in philosophy from Cathedral College, a M.Div. from Immaculate Conception Seminary, and a licentiate and doctorate in theology from the Gregorian University, Rome. He was named Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn by Pope Benedict XVI in 2006, and installed as Fifth Bishop of Bridgeport in 2013.

On Saturday, April 1, 2017 9 AM, the Pontifical Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in New York will offer a Missa Cantata followed by Eucharistic Adoration, Novena Prayers to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Servant of God Pierre Toussaint & Benediction; Confessions heard before Mass and during Eucharistic Adoration.
In addition, on Tuesday April 4th at 7 PM there will be a Sung Requiem Mass – Month’s Mind for Jacques Pierre.

On Easter Friday, April 21st at 7:00, the Very Rev. Msgr. Joseph Ambrosio will celebrate the first Traditional Latin Mass in Saint Stephen’s Parish, or for that matter in the entire town of Kearny, since the changes of Vatican II.

On the Feast of the Annunciation, the Children’s Schola of St. Mary Church, Norwalk, directed by David Hughes, performed at a Solemn Mass at St. Agnes Church in New York. The schola sang Palestrina’s Missa Ave Maria.
